EDDIE CON EL PELO NEGRO/ EDDIE WITH A BLACK HAIR (OMG)

Durante el rodaje de otro de los intentos por Eddie de abrirse paso en los EEUU, tuvo que cambiar de look, ya que estamos a costumbrados a verlo con su pelo pelirrojo, pero durante el rodaje de la pelicula Powder Blue (no se llego a estrenar a este lado del charco) pudimos ver a un Eddie muy cambiado ya que aparece con el pelo teñido de negro ( no va a ser esta la primera vez que le veamos con el pelo tenido pero si que puede ser la que más llame nuestra atención)

La pelicula enconcreto se centra en la vida de 4 personas y como sus historias se van entre cruzando, la cinta cuenta como protagonistas con Jessica Biel, Ray Liota, Forrest Whitaker y Eddie Redmayne y unos personajes secundarios muy conocidos también. El papel de Eddie que quereis que os diga yo no critica de cine ni nada por el estilo pero es una peli que a mi ni fú ni fa, no va a entrar en los anales de las mejores peliculas que he visto en mi vida ni nada por el estilo.
Eddie es Qwerty Dolittle ( dueño de las pompas funebres) en la ciudad de Los Angeles pero con más trampas que dinero la verdad... tiene problemas para entablar conversaciones (sobretodo con chicas) hasta que conoce a Rose Johnny (papel interpretado por Jessica Biel) madre soltera con su hijo muy enfermo en un hospital....

Lo mejor de todo, que aquí en España no esta doblada y que la podreis ver en V.O y oireis a Eddie con ese maravilloso acento americano que a mi tanto me gusta. Os recomiendo que veaís la peli, pero que no tengais unas grandes pretensiones con ella, es para pasar el rato y poco más

Pero.... no solamente le vimos interpretando a Qwerty con el pelo negro, no aprovechando el look Eddie hizo varias sesiones de fotos entre ellas una campaña de fotos para la marca Burberry  e incluso acudio algun que otro estreno os dejo alguna foto por el post

Eddie is Qwerty Dolittle (owner of the funeral parlors) in  Los Angeles but with no very money the truth ... he has trouble starting conversations (especially with girls) until he meets Rose Johnny (role played by Jessica Biel ) single mother with her very sick son in a hospital ....

But ... not only did we see him playing Qwerty with black hair, not taking advantage of the look Eddie did several photo sessions including a photo campaign for Burberry company.

KNOWING ME, KNOWING YOU...

Aprovecho el titulo de una canción del grupo sueco ABBA,  para haceros la entrada de hoy,  en la que vamos a seguir conociendo un poco mejor a nuestro actor favorito. 

Como sabeís Eddie ( ya os dije en este link) nacío en Londres en 1982, pero ¿quién es la familia Redmayne?, pues bien llevo un tiempo indagando y esto es lo que he encontrado.

Eddie tiene 2 hermanos de sangre James nacido en 1979 y Thomas nacido en 1987, pero además de a ellos, el actor tiene dos medio hermanos nacidos de un matrimonio anterior de su padre ellos son Eugenie nacida en 1965 y Charlie nacido en 1966. Por lo tanto Eddie es el 4º hijo de su padre Richard Redmayne nacido en 1938 en concreto el 05 de julio  y el 2º de su madre Patricia Burke nacida en 1949, ambos contrajeron matrimonio en el mes de mayo de 1978.

Después de Eddie, el hermano "más conocido" del clan es Charlie, a parte de ser militar, es CEO de la editorial Harper Collins en Londres, y era el encargado de llevar la web de pottermore de la escritora JK Rowling, pero el resto de sus hermanos no se quedan atrás, (la verdad es que el que provengan de una familia acomodada para ellos no quiere decir que se dediquen a vivir la vida padre, son unos trabajadores natos y eso se nota en sus puestos de trabajo) James es según Eddie un deportista nato y un gran estudiante, actualmente vive en Hong Kong con su mujer y sus tres hijos y el más pequeño de los hermanos Tom, acaba de convertirse en papá de su primera hija Nola, junto a su esposa, y ambos residen en Nueva York,  ( según publicaba el diario britanico "The sun" Eddie esta deseando que termine esta cuarentena y poder viajar a los EEUU, para poder conocerla) ya que Eddie siempre ha estado muy unido a sus hermanos. 

Que más deciros ah si, que todos los hermanos Redmayne han ido al prestigioso colegio de Eton, de hecho Eddie fue compañero de clase del principe Guillermo ( el heredero a la corona britanica)aunque según él solamente jugaban juntos a Rugby e iban a clases de francés juntos  y también en el colegio se codeo con el actor Tom Hiddleston ( que no se si os sonora su nombre, pero que si os digo que interpreta al personaje de Loki quizás os suene mucho más) , con Tom han realizado teatros de manera amateur en el colegio, donde Eddie interpretaba papeles femeninos y Tom hacía el papel de pata delantera de un elefante, os dejo el link donde Tom cuenta esta historia directamente en este link. Lo que no sabía Eddie, es que durante su estancia en Eton conocería a una persona que con el paso de los años se convertiría en alguien muy especial para él (ya os contaré esto en su debido momento , soy mala lo sé) 

Después de asistir a Eton, donde el precio medio es de unos 5.000 dolares en la matricula,  fue al Trinity College de Cambridge ( una de las más prestigiosas universidades de Reino Unido, junto con Oxford) como os comente Eddie estudio Historia del Arte, aunque tambiéb hacía sus pinitos como actor, allí Eddie coincidio en los actores Rebecca Hall y Dan Stevens que fueron compañeros de facultad (aunque no de estudios) 

Fue durante su etapa estudiantil, donde conocio a quien se convertiria en su insepareble compañera de vida durante más de 3 años Tara Hacking. (estad atentos a proximas entradas si quereis saber de quien os hablo)

As you know Eddie (I already told you in this link) was born in London in 1982, but who is the Redmayne family? Well, I have been investigating for a while and this is what I have found.

Eddie has 2 blood brothers James born in 1979 and Thomas born in 1987, but in addition to them, the actor has one  half sister and ond half brother  born from a previous marriage of his father they are Eugenie born in 1965 and Charlie born in 1966. BASADO EN... / BASED ON

Para muchos Eddie Redmayne es Newt Scamander, pero para otros muchos Eddie es Jack Jackson  (los pilares de la tierra) y para otros será Angel Claire (Tess), y es que a Eddie los personajes basados en novelas o personajes de ficción le van como anillo al dedo (basicamente como todos los papeles que interpreta), pero hoy os voy a hablar del primero de ellos Angel Claire.

Si habéis visto la serie que estreno la BBC hayá por el año 2008, o si habéis leído la novela seguramente os suene y mucho esta escena que os describo, se trata cuando  Angel Claire (el personaje de Eddie) cruza a las chicas por el rio para que no se mojen los pies, pues bien en los extras del DVD Eddie cuenta lo que le costo rodar esa escena, porque según él (ya sabemos lo exagerado que es) apenas tiene fuerza y la escena tenía que quedar de una manera romantica y hubo un momento en el que el personaje de Tess (Gemma Artenton) comenzo a resbarse de sus manos y temia que ambos dos terminaran en el agua. Otra de las anécdoras es tan bien con respecto a Gemma, sabeís que Eddie no es el tio más musculoso del mundo pero... cuando se entero que iba compartir protagonismo con ella y que ella a su vez acababa de trabajar con Daniel Craig en James Bond decidio ir al gimnasio para que ella pudiera comparar, la verdad es que este chico no deja de soprendernos.

Para quien no lo sepa la serie de Tess esta basada en la novela homonima de Thomas Hardy, y en ella se habla de la virtud de las mujeres de la época . La serie consta de 4 capitulos y se rodo en Surrey en los meses de invierno de 2008,  la verdad es que la fotografía y el vestuario de la serie hace que te metas mucho en la época de la novela, finales del siglo XIX. La serie se estreno en Septiembre de 2008 en la BBC y en marzo del año siguiente en las televisiones norteamericas, aquí en España creo que no llegó a emitirse en ninguna cadena de TV, pero si que fue lanzada directamente a DVD. Como curiosidad os diré que los capitulos emitidos enTV  eran de una duración más prolongada y que al pasarlas a DVD  han omitido unas cuantas escenas y debo añadir de los más interesante... Yo recomiendo que la veias en Versión original como todo lo que hace Eddie para que podais disfrutar de su marcado acento britanico.

Y otra curiosidad el personaje  Alec Duberville (El villano) esta interpretado por Hans Materson y os digo esto porque tanto Hans como Eddie han interpretado el papel de Marius Pontmercy en los miserables, y podeis volver a ver a Eddie montando a caballo eso siempre pinta bien. jajaja

If you have seen the series that the BBC premieres there for the year 2008, or if you have read the novel, it surely sounds familiar to you and this scene that I describe to you is about Angel Claire (Eddie's character) crossing the girls by the river so they don't get their feet wet, well in the extras on the DVD Eddie tells what it cost him to shoot that scene, because according to him (we already know how exaggerated it is) it hardly has any strength and the scene had to be in a romantic and There was a time when Tess's character (Gemma Artenton) started to slip out of his hands and feared that both of them would end up in the water. Another of the anecdotes is so good regarding Gemma, you know that Eddie is not the most muscular guy in the world but ... when he found out that he was going to share the limelight with her and that she in turn had just worked with Daniel Craig on James Bond decided to go to the gym so she could compare, the truth is that this boy never ceases to amaze us.

Tess is based on the homonymous novel written by Thomas Hardy, and it talks about the virtue of women of the time. The series consists of 4 chapters and was filmed in Surrey in the winter months of 2008, the truth is that the photography and costumes of the series make you mess around a lot in the time of the novel, late 19th century. The series premiered in September 2008 on the BBC and in March of the following year on North American television, here in Spain I think that it did not get to be broadcast on any TV channel, but it was released directly to DVD. As a curiosity I will tell you that the episodes broadcast on TV were of a longer duration and that when they were transferred to DVD they have omitted a few scenes and I must add the most interesting ... I recommend that you see it in the original version as everything Eddie does. so you can enjoy his strong British accent.

And another curiosity the character Alec Duberville (The villain) is played by Hans Materson and I tell you this because both Hans and Eddie have played the role of Marius Pontmercy in Les Misérables.

UN MARAVILLOSO PERSONAJE ... GORDY/ A WONDERFUL CHARACTER .... GORDY

El año 2007 a parte del estreno de Savage Grace, a Eddie le trajo la importante tarea de compartir rodaje con la oscarizada actriz Cate Blanchett en Elisabeth la edad de oro, en ella interpreta el  papel de Anthony Babington  ( basado en un personaje real, al que se le conoce por ser uno de los encargados de asediar a la reina para que fuera depuesta y así conseguir que Maria Estuardo obstentara el reinado que para muchos le pertenecía) me imagino que muchos de vosotros habréis visto esta cinta ya que (aunque no obtuvo tanto reconocimiento que su primera parte) si que obtuvo buenas criticas y varias nominaciones a premios.

Pero… la cosa no quedo ahí ya que en ese mismo verano, uno de los representantes de Eddie le animo a que se presentará a un casting donde tenía que hacer de Indio nativo americano y claro siendo Eddie tan inglés como es pues el pensaba que no tendría suerte, y que no le darían el papel, pero el resultado no fue ese, al contrario Eddie obtuvo el papel de Gordy, la película se titularía algo así en español como “el pañuelo amarillo” y seria una road movie protagonizada por William Hurt (con quien ya trabajó en the Good shepherd), Kristen Steward (antes de Crepusculo) y Maria Bello (el bar coyote).

La película se estreno en el festival de Sudance en el año 2008 al tiempo que Eddie estrenaba en dicho festival “Savage Grace”, obteniendo diversas criticas por ambas películas.

A mi lo que mas me gusto de “the yellow handkerchieft” es el poder disfrutar de ese maravilloso acento norteño que se nos marca Eddie, ( os cuento un secreto…. Esta película le sirvió para que Eddie más adelante obtuviera uno de los papeles mas  importantes de su carrera) a parte de todo esto, Eddie es muy Inglés de hecho siempre he oído que las personas de Chelsea (de donde procede) tienen el acento británico mas perfecto, pero… por favor debéis ver esta peli si no lo habéis hecho ya, porque escucharle hablar es una maravilla y disfrutar de esta maravillosa actuación, creo que Gordy se ha ganado un lugar en mi corazón

En mi humilde opinión Gordy es un ser muy inteligente aunque como dice el personaje de Brett (Willian Hurt) un poco joven mentalmente para su edad, creo que lo que desprende dicho personaje a parte de su carisma y su simpatia es que es muy observador y me quedo con una frase que dice Gordy casi al final de la cinta a Brett, y es " debes de dejar de pasar por la vida como si fueras un fantasma".

De verdad si no habeís visto esta pelicula estais tardando, tiene unas escenas tan tiernas que merecen mucho la pena

The film was premiered at the Sudance festival in 2008 at the same time that Eddie premiered at said festival "Savage Grace", obtaining various reviews for both films.

In my humble opinion Gordy is a very intelligent being, although as the character of Brett (Willian Hurt) says, a little young mentally for his age, I think what this character gives off apart from his charisma and sympathy is that he is very observant and I'm left with a phrase that Gordy says near the end of the tape to Brett, and it is "you must stop going through life as if you were a ghost".

I recommend that you watch this movie

Y VOLVEMOS AL TEATRO/ AND GO BACK TO THE STAGE

Mientras que Eddie sigue abriéndose paso en el mundo del cine,  no deja aparcado el mundo del teatro, al contrario sigue obteniendo buenas críticas en  el año 2007, mientras en el cine estrenaba Savage Grace, o Elisabeth la edad de oro y rodaba películas como “the yellow hankerchieft·, en el teatro le llegaba el éxito de la mano de la Obra “Now or later”, en ella interpretaba al hijo gay del presidente de los Estados Unidos, el argumento decía así: Durante la noche electoral el hijo del presidente de los EEUU anuncia que es homosexual vestido de Mahoma, la verdad es que la critica afirmo que Eddie interpreto un gran papel.

Si os dais cuenta Eddie ha interpretado varias veces papeles homosexuales, y según afirma el propio actor, desde muy joven al haber acudido a un colegio integro de chicos, alguien tenía que interpretar los papeles de chicas o de homosexuales y debido a su aspecto en las mayorías de ocasiones le tocaba hacerlo a él.

Hace unas semanas me quede con las ganas de 

contaros unas cuantas anécdotas que Eddie ha ido contando en diversos medios. Uno de ellos fue cuando sus hermanos acompañaron a sus padres a verlo en la obra “the goat or who is Sylvia? Por lo visto había una escena en la  Eddie tenía que besar a su padre intepretado por Jonathan Price, todos los hermanos del actor sabían de ese momento, es por ello que cuando llego el momento todos se quedaron mirando a su padre para ver la cara que ponía cuando este besase a “su padre” teatral. 

Otra de las anécdotas que ha contado también es en referencia a esta obra y es que en una de las funciones Jonathan Price mordío sin querer a Eddie en el labio y comenzó a sangrar en mitad de la función.

La obra de teatro obtuvo mucho exito y fue ampliada hasta el mes de  noviembre de ese mismo año

Another anecdote that he has also told is in reference to this work and is that in one of the shows, Jonathan Price accidentally bit Eddie on the lip and started bleeding in the middle of the show.

SAVAGE GRACE

Quizás para muchos de nosotros sea una de las películas más complicadas de ver, pero Eddie siempre habla y con mucho cariño de la pelicula Savage Grace, en ella interpreta al hijo esquizofrenico de Barbara Baekeland interpretado por la actriz Julianne Moore

Según nos ha comentado Eddie,  desde que Julianne le vio cuando se presento al casting dijo "parece que estoy viendo a mi hijo", dicho esto Eddie se cayo varias veces del casting, pero ella insisitio en   que si Eddie no interpretaba el papel de su hijo ella se negaba  a realizar la pelicula, fue una pelicula que costo mucho  de realizarse ya que no contaba con financiación por parte de las productoras, y mucho menos las norteamericana, ya que cuenta una de las etapas mas negras de la Belle epoque Neuyorkina,  por ello el director decidió probar suerte y vino a España ,  el gobierno de la comunidad autonóma de Cataluña decidío darle la financiación necesaría para rodarla.  En la pelicula podemos encontrar a otros actores reconocidos del panorarma  nacional entre ellos Belen Rueda, Elena Anaya, Peter Vives etc....

Despúes de todas estas vicisitudes la película consiguio estrenarse en el festival de cine de Sudance en el año 2008, teniendo todo tipo de  críticas  (sobretodo negativas),. 

A pesar de todo y como os dicho antes Eddie guarda cariño al rodaje de esta cinta, dice que paso el mejor verano de su vida, rodando en Barcelona, disfrutando del sol y bebiendo vino... 

En cuanto a mi opinión personal de la peli, pues que queréis que os diga, que la primera vez que la ví dije madre mia que es esto, sobretodo doblada al castellano. 

Particularmente yo destaco el papel de Julianne Moore, aunque sin menospreciar el trabajo de Eddie o de su "padre" Stephen Dillance, los actores españoles creo que los han metido ahí con calzas la verdad, no veo por ningún lado que sentido tiene sus personajes,  y yo os recomiendo que la veais hay una escena, en un sofa casi al final de la pelicula que su dialogo es.... en fin,  hay veces que los actores me dan pena cuando tienen que enfrentarse a determinados guiones, pero además lo que mas traya tiene de todo esto es que la peli esta basada en una historia real.

EL BUEN PASTOR / THE GOOD SHEPHERD

Si algo caracteriza a nuestro actor favorito son esos labios carnosos, el siempre ha dicho que eso le valio para que le seleccionaran para que encarase el papel del hijo de Angelina Jolie y Matt Damon en el buen pastor. Aunque verdaderamente la directora de casting Lucy Bevan leyó en una revista una crítica de la obra que Eddie protagoziba por aquel entonces "La cabra" y decidio llamarlo para que interpretará dicho papel. 

Eddie, cuenta que cuando llego al casting se quedo muy sorprendido porque no se esperaba al mismisimo Robert DeNiro (Bob para Eddie) allí, en esa primera toma de contacto Bob le comento que necesitaba que él se cambiará el peinado, (mejor dicho le dijo que tenía que volver peinado) porque por la tarde debería de volver para pasar el casting junto con Leo (Eddie se quedo perplejo no esperaba tener que pasar el casting con el mismisimo Leonardo DiCaprio, ¿quien les iba  a decir que con el paso de los años iban a ser contricantes en el 2016 para obtener el oscar a mejor actor?) 

Al parecer Eddie no debio de hacerlo demasiado mal ya que al final se quedo con el papel cosa que DiCaprio no ya que fue sustituido por el anteriormente mencionado Matt Damon.

Anecdotas de la pelicula que nos haya contado el propio Eddie  tenemos varias pero creo que cabe destacar las siguientes: 

Eddie cuenta que durante el rodaje estaba super nervioso ya que aparte de hacer de hijo de dos super estrellas de Hollywood, tenía que poner acento americano y apenas pudo practicarlo antes de rodar, otra de las anecdotas es que por aquel entonces Eddie salia con Tara (su anterior pareja oficial antes de salir con Hannah) por eso le pidio a Bob (Robert de Niro) que le recomendará un restaurante en la gran manzana para salir con su chica, Robert le indico uno, pero lo que no sabía Eddie es que cuando fue a pagar la cuenta esta estaba saldada ya que el propio de Niro había dejado dicho que no abonara nada ya que el restaurante era de su propiedad... 

Otra más y ya la última (aunque me quedan muchas más que contar) es que la primera escena que rodo en la película fue junto con Angelina Jolie, tenia que decirle "Mamá te ves preciosa" pero según el mismo ha dicho en entrevistas que Robert le dijo que no se lo dijera a "su madre, como si quisiera ligar con ella)

SU PRIMER TRABAJO CON TOM HOOPER / HIS FIRST JOB WITH TOM HOOPER

De todos es sabido que a Eddie le gusta volver a trabajar con personas con las que ha trabajado anteriormente, el dice que le gusta crear un vinculo con ellos porque así el rodar es mucho más ameno y si tienen qu volver a cruzarse pues como que resulta mucho más sencillo, la verdad es que con actores si que ha repetido bastante pero lo que se dice con directores ha sido bastante fiel a Tom Hooper con el que ha participado en varias ocasiones, la primera de ella fue en la miniserie para TV Elisabeth protagonizada por Helen Mirren, Jeremy Irons, Tobey Jones o Hugh Dancy entre otros.

Eddie en ella interpretaba al conde de Southampton,(si no habéis visto la miniserie, ya estais tardando, ya que Eddie sale poco en ella, bueno lo cierto que es que solo sale en el segundo capitulo, pero ALERTA SPOILER cuando es condenado por traicionar a la reina creo que no puede deprender más ternura en su mirada) 

Eddie siempre cuenta una anécdota cuando se presento al casting para el papel y es que Tom Hooper le pregunto que si sabía montar a caballo por lo que Eddie le dijo que sí, claro... dos semanas después comenzaron a rodar en Lituania vestidos para la ocasión, cuando el director grito acción a Eddie se le desboco un poco el caballo y cuentan ambos que por el walkie talkie Tom le solto a Eddie "Eres un jodido mentiroso Redmayne", lo cierto es que después de esto surgio entre ellos una bonita amistad que nos he permitido disfrutar de ellos trabajando juntos en dos peliculas más
