Mientras que Eddie sigue abriéndose paso en el mundo del
cine, no deja aparcado el mundo del
teatro, al contrario sigue obteniendo buenas críticas en el año 2007, mientras en el cine estrenaba
Savage Grace, o Elisabeth la edad de oro y rodaba películas como “the yellow
hankerchieft·, en el teatro le llegaba el éxito de la mano de la Obra “Now or
later”, en ella interpretaba al hijo gay del presidente de los Estados Unidos,
el argumento decía así: Durante la noche electoral el hijo del presidente de
los EEUU anuncia que es homosexual vestido de Mahoma, la verdad es que la
critica afirmo que Eddie interpreto un gran papel.
Si os dais cuenta Eddie ha interpretado varias veces papeles
homosexuales, y según afirma el propio actor, desde muy joven al haber acudido
a un colegio integro de chicos, alguien tenía que interpretar los papeles de
chicas o de homosexuales y debido a su aspecto en las mayorías de ocasiones le
tocaba hacerlo a él.
Hace unas semanas me quede con las ganas de
contaros unas
cuantas anécdotas que Eddie ha ido contando en diversos medios. Uno de ellos
fue cuando sus hermanos acompañaron a sus padres a verlo en la obra “the goat
or who is Sylvia? Por lo visto había una escena en la Eddie tenía que besar a su padre intepretado
por Jonathan Price, todos los hermanos del actor sabían de ese momento, es por
ello que cuando llego el momento todos se quedaron mirando a su padre para ver
la cara que ponía cuando este besase a “su padre” teatral.
Otra de las anécdotas que ha contado también es en referencia a esta obra y es
que en una de las funciones Jonathan Price mordío sin querer a Eddie en el
labio y comenzó a sangrar en mitad de la función.
