BIRDSONG

Corría el verano del año 2011 cuando a Eddie le ofrecieron la oportunidad de interpretar el papel del teniente Wraysford, para una TV movie que querian rodar en 9 semanas en  Budapest, Eddie no dudo ni un instante cuando le ofrecieron el papel ( y menos mal que no) porque para mi sin duda alguna es de los papeles que más recomiendo de ver en su carrera.

Se trata de la mini serie "BIRDSONG", basada en la novela de Sebastian Faulk publicada en 1993, según cuenta el propio Redmayne, él leyó la  novela siendo un adolescente y quedo encantado. 

No quiero hacer Spoilers, que conste, la serie narra la historia del joven Stephen Wraysford quien es enviado a Francia a una empresa textil para que aprenda el manejo de las maquinas que allí disponen, con lo que no contaban es que allí Stephen conozca a Isabelle Azaire esposa del dueño de la fabrica con quien  Stephen parece congeniar, la serie nos adentra dentro de la historia de estos dos jovenes y podemos ver la pasión que se desata entre ellos, también podemos ver a traves de los flacksbacks que tiene el propio Stephen que paso en esa relación, pero todo esto embarcado en el ámbito de la primera guerra mundial. Así que para mi sin duda reunía todas las condiciones para ver esta serie, y la verdad es que desde que la vi por primera vez se ha convertido en uno de los referentes en la carrera de Eddie como os dije antes .

Eddie recuerda este rodaje como algo muy intenso ya que no solo tuvo que rodar las escenas de las trincheras, que para el fueron de las más duras, también tenían que rodar las escenas de los tuneles y por si fuera poco rodar las escenas pasionales junto a su compañera de reparto Clemence Poesy, y todo esto a más de 40 grados de temperatura, dice que durante esa epoca Eddie tuvo que tirar de un SPF bastante alto. Que se levantaba muy temprano para que cuando tuvieran que maquillarlo esa capa de "cemento armado" que se había puesto en la cara, hubiera sido absorbido, cuenta que durante ese verano mantuvo un contacto cercano con Tom Hooper (los miserables) y que le decía Eddie a Tom, - Tom sin duda este es el rodaje más duro al que he tenido que enfrentarme. A lo que Tom le respondía : - vamos Eddie siempre dices lo mismo. 

Lo cierto es que la química que hay entre Eddie y su compañera de reparto Clemence no os a dejar para nada indiferentes ( si es que no habéis visto la serie) Eddie dice que para poder conocerse mejor y enfrentarse a estas escenas ambos salían por la noche a tomarse unas cervezas.

De verdad que recomiendo encarecidamente que veiais esta serie es maravillosa, la trama, la pasion, la ambientación y por supuesto lo guapo que sale Eddie vestido de militar, ( que esa es otra, no le puede quedar mejor el traje)

It was the summer of 2011 when Eddie was offered the opportunity to play the role of Lieutenant Wraysford, for a TV movie they wanted to shoot in 9 weeks in Budapest, Eddie did not hesitate for a moment when he was offered the role (and less badly not) because for me it is certainly one of the roles I highly recommend to see in his career.

This is the mini series "BIRDSONG", based on Sebastian Faulk's novel published in 1993, according to Redmayne himself, he read the novel as a teenager and was delighted. 

I don't want to do Spoilers, for the record, the series tells the story of young Stephen Wraysford who is sent to France to a textile company to learn the handling of the machines they have there, what they didn't count on is that there Stephen meets Isabelle Azaire wife of the owner of the factory with whom Stephen seems to be content, the series takes us into the story of these two young men and we can see the passion that breaks out between them, we can also see through the flacksbacks that Stephen himself has that happened in that relationship, but all this embarked in the realm of the first world war. So for me I certainly met all the conditions to watch this series, and the truth is that since I first saw it it has become one of the benchmarks in Eddie's career as I told you before.

Eddie remembers this filming as something very intense as not only did he have to shoot the trench scenes, which for him were one of the toughest, they also had to shoot the scenes of the tunnels and in case it was not enough to shoot the passionate scenes with his co-star Clemence Poesy, and all this at more than 40 degrees of temperature , says that during that time Eddie had to pull a fairly high SPF. That he would get up very early so that when they had to make it up that layer of "armed cement" that had been put in his face, he would have been absorbed, he says that during that summer he kept a close contact with Tom Hooper (the wretched ones) and that Eddie told Tom, - Tom is definitely the toughest shoot I've ever had to face. To which Tom replied : -- come on Eddie always say the same thing. 

The truth is that the chemistry between Eddie and his co-star Clemence will not leave you indifferent at all (if you haven't seen the series) Eddie says that in order to get to know each other better and face these scenes, they both went out at night for a few beers.

I really highly recommend that you watch this series is wonderful, the plot, the passion, the setting and of course how handsome Eddie comes out dressed as a military man, (that's another, he can't have a better suit) 

BASADO EN... / BASED ON

Para muchos Eddie Redmayne es Newt Scamander, pero para otros muchos Eddie es Jack Jackson  (los pilares de la tierra) y para otros será Angel Claire (Tess), y es que a Eddie los personajes basados en novelas o personajes de ficción le van como anillo al dedo (basicamente como todos los papeles que interpreta), pero hoy os voy a hablar del primero de ellos Angel Claire.

Si habéis visto la serie que estreno la BBC hayá por el año 2008, o si habéis leído la novela seguramente os suene y mucho esta escena que os describo, se trata cuando  Angel Claire (el personaje de Eddie) cruza a las chicas por el rio para que no se mojen los pies, pues bien en los extras del DVD Eddie cuenta lo que le costo rodar esa escena, porque según él (ya sabemos lo exagerado que es) apenas tiene fuerza y la escena tenía que quedar de una manera romantica y hubo un momento en el que el personaje de Tess (Gemma Artenton) comenzo a resbarse de sus manos y temia que ambos dos terminaran en el agua. Otra de las anécdoras es tan bien con respecto a Gemma, sabeís que Eddie no es el tio más musculoso del mundo pero... cuando se entero que iba compartir protagonismo con ella y que ella a su vez acababa de trabajar con Daniel Craig en James Bond decidio ir al gimnasio para que ella pudiera comparar, la verdad es que este chico no deja de soprendernos.

Para quien no lo sepa la serie de Tess esta basada en la novela homonima de Thomas Hardy, y en ella se habla de la virtud de las mujeres de la época . La serie consta de 4 capitulos y se rodo en Surrey en los meses de invierno de 2008,  la verdad es que la fotografía y el vestuario de la serie hace que te metas mucho en la época de la novela, finales del siglo XIX. La serie se estreno en Septiembre de 2008 en la BBC y en marzo del año siguiente en las televisiones norteamericas, aquí en España creo que no llegó a emitirse en ninguna cadena de TV, pero si que fue lanzada directamente a DVD. Como curiosidad os diré que los capitulos emitidos enTV  eran de una duración más prolongada y que al pasarlas a DVD  han omitido unas cuantas escenas y debo añadir de los más interesante... Yo recomiendo que la veias en Versión original como todo lo que hace Eddie para que podais disfrutar de su marcado acento britanico.

Y otra curiosidad el personaje  Alec Duberville (El villano) esta interpretado por Hans Materson y os digo esto porque tanto Hans como Eddie han interpretado el papel de Marius Pontmercy en los miserables, y podeis volver a ver a Eddie montando a caballo eso siempre pinta bien. jajaja

For many Eddie Redmayne is known for the character of Newt Scamander, but for many others Eddie is Jack Jackson (the pillars of the earth) and for others it will be Angel Claire (Tess), and it is that Eddie the characters based on novels or characters fiction is going like a ring to his finger (basically like all the roles he plays), but today I'm going to tell you about of  Angel Claire.

If you have seen the series that the BBC premieres there for the year 2008, or if you have read the novel, it surely sounds familiar to you and this scene that I describe to you is about Angel Claire (Eddie's character) crossing the girls by the river so they don't get their feet wet, well in the extras on the DVD Eddie tells what it cost him to shoot that scene, because according to him (we already know how exaggerated it is) it hardly has any strength and the scene had to be in a romantic and There was a time when Tess's character (Gemma Artenton) started to slip out of his hands and feared that both of them would end up in the water. Another of the anecdotes is so good regarding Gemma, you know that Eddie is not the most muscular guy in the world but ... when he found out that he was going to share the limelight with her and that she in turn had just worked with Daniel Craig on James Bond decided to go to the gym so she could compare, the truth is that this boy never ceases to amaze us.

Tess is based on the homonymous novel written by Thomas Hardy, and it talks about the virtue of women of the time. The series consists of 4 chapters and was filmed in Surrey in the winter months of 2008, the truth is that the photography and costumes of the series make you mess around a lot in the time of the novel, late 19th century. The series premiered in September 2008 on the BBC and in March of the following year on North American television, here in Spain I think that it did not get to be broadcast on any TV channel, but it was released directly to DVD. As a curiosity I will tell you that the episodes broadcast on TV were of a longer duration and that when they were transferred to DVD they have omitted a few scenes and I must add the most interesting ... I recommend that you see it in the original version as everything Eddie does. so you can enjoy his strong British accent.

And another curiosity the character Alec Duberville (The villain) is played by Hans Materson and I tell you this because both Hans and Eddie have played the role of Marius Pontmercy in Les Misérables.
