BIRDSONG

Corría el verano del año 2011 cuando a Eddie le ofrecieron la oportunidad de interpretar el papel del teniente Wraysford, para una TV movie que querian rodar en 9 semanas en  Budapest, Eddie no dudo ni un instante cuando le ofrecieron el papel ( y menos mal que no) porque para mi sin duda alguna es de los papeles que más recomiendo de ver en su carrera.

Se trata de la mini serie "BIRDSONG", basada en la novela de Sebastian Faulk publicada en 1993, según cuenta el propio Redmayne, él leyó la  novela siendo un adolescente y quedo encantado. 

No quiero hacer Spoilers, que conste, la serie narra la historia del joven Stephen Wraysford quien es enviado a Francia a una empresa textil para que aprenda el manejo de las maquinas que allí disponen, con lo que no contaban es que allí Stephen conozca a Isabelle Azaire esposa del dueño de la fabrica con quien  Stephen parece congeniar, la serie nos adentra dentro de la historia de estos dos jovenes y podemos ver la pasión que se desata entre ellos, también podemos ver a traves de los flacksbacks que tiene el propio Stephen que paso en esa relación, pero todo esto embarcado en el ámbito de la primera guerra mundial. Así que para mi sin duda reunía todas las condiciones para ver esta serie, y la verdad es que desde que la vi por primera vez se ha convertido en uno de los referentes en la carrera de Eddie como os dije antes .

Eddie recuerda este rodaje como algo muy intenso ya que no solo tuvo que rodar las escenas de las trincheras, que para el fueron de las más duras, también tenían que rodar las escenas de los tuneles y por si fuera poco rodar las escenas pasionales junto a su compañera de reparto Clemence Poesy, y todo esto a más de 40 grados de temperatura, dice que durante esa epoca Eddie tuvo que tirar de un SPF bastante alto. Que se levantaba muy temprano para que cuando tuvieran que maquillarlo esa capa de "cemento armado" que se había puesto en la cara, hubiera sido absorbido, cuenta que durante ese verano mantuvo un contacto cercano con Tom Hooper (los miserables) y que le decía Eddie a Tom, - Tom sin duda este es el rodaje más duro al que he tenido que enfrentarme. A lo que Tom le respondía : - vamos Eddie siempre dices lo mismo. 

Lo cierto es que la química que hay entre Eddie y su compañera de reparto Clemence no os a dejar para nada indiferentes ( si es que no habéis visto la serie) Eddie dice que para poder conocerse mejor y enfrentarse a estas escenas ambos salían por la noche a tomarse unas cervezas.

De verdad que recomiendo encarecidamente que veiais esta serie es maravillosa, la trama, la pasion, la ambientación y por supuesto lo guapo que sale Eddie vestido de militar, ( que esa es otra, no le puede quedar mejor el traje)

It was the summer of 2011 when Eddie was offered the opportunity to play the role of Lieutenant Wraysford, for a TV movie they wanted to shoot in 9 weeks in Budapest, Eddie did not hesitate for a moment when he was offered the role (and less badly not) because for me it is certainly one of the roles I highly recommend to see in his career.

This is the mini series "BIRDSONG", based on Sebastian Faulk's novel published in 1993, according to Redmayne himself, he read the novel as a teenager and was delighted. 

I don't want to do Spoilers, for the record, the series tells the story of young Stephen Wraysford who is sent to France to a textile company to learn the handling of the machines they have there, what they didn't count on is that there Stephen meets Isabelle Azaire wife of the owner of the factory with whom Stephen seems to be content, the series takes us into the story of these two young men and we can see the passion that breaks out between them, we can also see through the flacksbacks that Stephen himself has that happened in that relationship, but all this embarked in the realm of the first world war. So for me I certainly met all the conditions to watch this series, and the truth is that since I first saw it it has become one of the benchmarks in Eddie's career as I told you before.

Eddie remembers this filming as something very intense as not only did he have to shoot the trench scenes, which for him were one of the toughest, they also had to shoot the scenes of the tunnels and in case it was not enough to shoot the passionate scenes with his co-star Clemence Poesy, and all this at more than 40 degrees of temperature , says that during that time Eddie had to pull a fairly high SPF. That he would get up very early so that when they had to make it up that layer of "armed cement" that had been put in his face, he would have been absorbed, he says that during that summer he kept a close contact with Tom Hooper (the wretched ones) and that Eddie told Tom, - Tom is definitely the toughest shoot I've ever had to face. To which Tom replied : -- come on Eddie always say the same thing. 

The truth is that the chemistry between Eddie and his co-star Clemence will not leave you indifferent at all (if you haven't seen the series) Eddie says that in order to get to know each other better and face these scenes, they both went out at night for a few beers.

I really highly recommend that you watch this series is wonderful, the plot, the passion, the setting and of course how handsome Eddie comes out dressed as a military man, (that's another, he can't have a better suit) 

16 COSAS QUE NO SABIAS SOBRE EDDIE (VOL 2) / 16 THINGS YOU DID NOT KNOW ABOUT EDDIE

Esta semana estaba dudando entre publicar este tipo de entrada, o hacer otra, pero mis locas por Eddie me animaron a que os trajera de nuevo una entrada sobre cosas que no sabes de Eddie y aquí estan otras .

1. Eddie calza un 46
2. En varias entrevistas ha confesado que suele buscar resultados suyos en youtube y que suele ver los videos de las entrevistas que le realizan en los estrenos de las peliculas... hay veces que dice que entra en bucle porque le toca repetir miles de veces lo mismo en las entrevistas
3. Alguna vez ha confesado que a sus amigos suele mandarles GIF's con su imagen a través del whatsapp de hecho dice que cuando pones su nombre en los Gif, la primera imagen que sale es de una escena de Jupiter Ascending
4. Sus cantantes favoritas son: Rihanna y Britney Spears
5. Según sus propias declaraciones, baila de pena

6. Ha trabajado como camarero

7. Suele pesar alrededor de los 72 kg

8. Para meterse en la piel de Stephen Hawking tuvo que adelgazar alrededor de 15 lb. ( eso son unos 8 kg)

Cuando rodaba la chica danesa, también adelgazó bastante, al parecer Jan Sewell su maquilladora le hizo hacerlo para marcar más sus facciones femeninas pero según tengo entendido Paco Delgado  (diseño de vestuario) le pidió que dejará de hacerlo porque cada vez que se probaba el vestuario tenia que estar  metiendo sus costuras

12. Le encanta el teatro, dice que puede pasarse horas hablando de el, y no es raro verle entre el patio de butacas de las obras teatrales de ciudad de Londres e incluso de Nueva York, si alguno de los que actúan en la gran manzana es alguno de sus amigos

13. Se hablo al principio de su carrera de que iba a protagonizar una película junto a Cillian Murphy 

14. Tiene ascendentes galeses, escoces e irlandeses

SU PRIMERA VEZ / HIS FIRST TIME

Durante la promoción y el estreno de la cinta Mi semana con Marilyn pudimos ver a Eddie en varios actos, pero creo que los más destacables son el estreno de la cinta en Londres donde pudimos ver al actor acompañado de parte del reparto de la cinta como son:  Keneth Branagh , Emma Watson entre otros, el estreno tuvo lugar el 20 de noviembre de 2011.

Anteriormente al estreno de la película en Londres, Eddie se desplazó hasta Estados Unidos en concreto a la ciudad de los rascacielos donde Eddie ya era una persona bastante reconocida después de haber protagonizado la obra RED y haber ganado los premios que os indique en anteriores entradas, en este festival a parte de acudir al estreno de su película junto a la protagonista de la misma cinta Michelle Williams,  también acudió al estreno de la película “The artists” que fue una de las grandes vencedoras de los festivales de ese año.

Junto a Eddie pudimos ver en el festival al actor Paul Dano ( a quien veremos interpretar el papel de Enigma; papel al que el propio se ofreció en el pasado festival de Tellirude) los dos actores y la mujer de Paul, Zoe se hicieron muy amigos durante la estancia de Eddie en Nueva York, de hecho hay rumores que Eddie protagonizó junto a Zoe el primer corto dirigido por Dano, pero nunca se ha hecho público.

Por aquel entonces a Eddie se le comenzó a relacionar con la actriz Carey Mulligan, después de haberlos vistos agarrados de la mano en la gran manzana, se cree que la relación entre ambos duró más bien poco debido a las apretadas agendas que ambos tenían lo cierto es que hoy en día siguen teniendo una gran relación de amistad.

During the promotion and release of the film My Week with Marilyn we were able to see Eddie in several acts, but I think the most noteworthy are the premiere of the film in London where we could see the actor accompanied by part of the cast of the film such as: Keneth Branagh, Emma Watson among others, the premiere took place on November 20, 2011. 

Prior to the film's london premiere, Eddie moved to the United States to attend this festival in part and go to the premiere of his film alongside the protagonist of the same film Michelle Williams, and also attended the premiere of the film "The Artists" which was one of the biggest winners of that year's festivals.

Together with Eddie we could see in the festival actor Paul Dano (whom we will see playing the role of Enigma; role to which he himself offered at the last Tellirude festival) the two actors and Paul's wife Zoe became close friends during Eddie's stay in New York, in fact there are rumors that Eddie starred alongside Zoe in the first short directed by Dano, but it has never been made public. 

At the time Eddie began to interact with actress Carey Mulligan, having seen them holding hands in New York City, it is believed that the relationship between the two lasted rather little due to the busy schedules that both had the truth is that today they still have a great friendship relationship. 

EDDIE KREEZER UN PERFECTO VAQUERO / A PERFECT COWBOY

Unas publicaciones atrás, os dije que la obra de teatro le trajo a Eddie la oportunidad de darse a conocer en Estados Unidos a nivel teatral, ganando premios, pero no solo esto, también le trajo nuevos trabajos, después de la suspensión de la serie para HBO que os contaba en este post, a Eddie se le ofreció la oportunidad de trabajar de nuevo en América, un director llamado Derek Martini estaba preparando la adaptación de la novela de Andrea Portes “Hick”, el director había estado en la gran manzana viendo la obra de RED y no dudo en ningún momento Eddie debía de convertirse en el vaquero de su  nueva película, Eddie siempre habla con mucho cariño de esta cinta, cierto es que ni por asomo es su mejor papel, pero le sirvió para abrirse camino y aunque las críticas de la cinta no fueron las mejores si que Eddie obtuvo las mejores críticas sobre el terreno.

En la cinta Eddie interpreta al vaquero Eddie Kreezer, (un inglés haciendo de vaquero, lo sé no hay por donde cogerlo, pero Eddie se atrevió a ello) pero el papel de Eddie no queda solo en eso, no en la película podemos verlo cojeando un pelín adicto a la metanfetamina, un poco loco y por si esto fuera poco un pelín pedofilo, vamos que el chico lo tiene todo, Eddie cuenta, mejor dicho ha contado en mogollon de entrevistas que cuando más antítesis de él es su personaje más disfruta interpretando el papel. 

La peli se rodó en Carolina del Norte en los meses de primavera, la verdad es que si no habéis tenido oportunidad de ver la cinta, creo que no tiene desperdicio, más que nada porque el chaval sale guapísimo y os puedo decir que yo me paso unos buenos ratos cada vez que veo la cinta ( es España no esta disponible) junto a Eddie podemos ver en esta cinta a Alec Baldwin, Chloe Grace Moretz, Blake Lively y Juliette Lewis entre otros muchos actores.

EL AÑO DEL MILAGRO / THE MIRACULOUS YEAR

Antes de que se me olvide, durante la estancia de Eddie en la ciudad de Nueva York y mientras representaba en Broadway “Red”, Eddie obtuvo la llamada de su representante le habían escogido para interpretar un papel protagonista para la nueva serie de HBO “the miraculous year” dirigida por la oscarizada Kathryn Bigelow. 

La serie contaba con el guion de  John Logan, el  mismo guionista de la obra de teatro que tanto éxito estaba cosechando en la ciudad de los rascacielos.

La serie narraba la historia de una familia en el seno de la ciudad de Nueva York a parte de contar con la interpretación del joven actor británico, la serie también contaba con Susan Sarandon, Frank Langella y Lee Peace entre otros, Eddie interpretaba el papel de Connor Lynn

Muchos de vosotros diréis que de que estoy hablando que nadie conoce de esa serie, ni siquiera sabíais de su existencia, y es por desgracia para todos aquellos que somos seguidores del británico la serie no llego a emitirse de hecho solo se grabo un episodio piloto y HBO no lo dio por bueno, por este motivo la serie nunca llego a producirse, creo que recordar que estaba prevista su estreno para el año 2011, año en el que Eddie estreno Mi semana con Marilyn.

Before I forget, during Eddie's stay in New York City and while performing Broadway on "Red", Eddie got the call from his representative who had chosen him to play a leading role for the new HBO series "the miraculous year ”directed by Oscar-winning Kathryn Bigelow.

The series had the script of John Logan, the same screenwriter of the play that was so successful in the city of skyscrapers.

The series told the story of a family in the heart of New York City apart from having the interpretation of the young British actor, the series also had Susan Sarandon, Frank Langella and Lee Peace among others, Eddie played the role of Connor lynn

Many of you will say that I am talking about that nobody knows about that series, you did not even know of its existence, and it is unfortunately for all of us who are followers of the British the series did not get to be broadcast in fact only a pilot episode was recorded and HBO did not consider it good, for this reason the series never got to be produced, I think I remember that it was scheduled to premiere in 2011, the year in which Eddie premiered My Week with Marilyn.

MI SEMANA CON MARILYN/ MY WEEK WITH MARILYN (VOL 1)

Después de terminar las representaciones de Red en Estados Unidos el 27 de junio de 2010, Eddie se tomo unas merecidas vacaciones, recordemos que el año anterior fue un no parar de trabajar, pero es que 2010 no iba a ser menos y es que mientras que estaba representando la obra en Nueva York, Eddie iba haciendo casting, en esta ocasión le tocaba a una película que en principio parecía que iba a tener una grandísima repercusión, se hablo que la cinta iba a estar protagonizada por Scarlett Johanson en el papel de Marilyn Monroe, ( Eddie tenía cierta amistad con la actriz, os recuerdo que ya habían trabajado conjuntamente con anterioridad), pero nada más cerca de la realidad, Scarlett no iba a ser la encargada de interpretar al icónico ídolo de Hollywood, la productora se decanto por la actriz Michelle Williams en el papel de Marilyn, Eddie paso varios casting, (varias pruebas) aunque el personaje que tenía que interpretar quizás a muchos le parecería que para él era un papel sencillo ya que Eddie tenía mucho que ver con el personaje que después interpretaría Colin Clark, es más ambos estudiaron en Eton, después les siguieron sus estudios de Historia del Arte (Eddie en Cambridge y Colin en Oxford) aunque tenía muchas posibilidades de acabar de obtener el papel, al casting se presentaron muchos actores jóvenes británicos sabiendo que esta podría ser la oportunidad de oro para entrar por la puerta grande en Hollywood, os pongo un  ejemplo Sam Claflin (los juegos del hambre) se presentó al casting para hacer el papel de Colin, ( después de los años, el propio Sam dijo que ese papel estaba claramente destinado a Eddie).

Cuenta Michelle Williams que ella conoció a Eddie  mientras que estaban aun representando la obra Red en Nueva York, y claro ella dio por sentado que Eddie era norteamericano (ya que  en la obra interpretaba a Ken que como os dije en el anterior post Eddie tuvo que poner acento norteamericano para interpretarlo ), y que ella quedo muy sorprendida cuando conoció a Eddie y de todas aquello que tenía en común con Colin, según ha contado el propio Redmayne interpretar un papel como el de Colin no fue demasiado fácil pese a las similitudes que le rodeaban,  el personaje de Colin esta basado en una persona real, la película de mi semana con Marilyn estaba basado en un libro que el propio Colin escribió de como fue su relación con la actriz más famosa de celuloide y no tenía a Colin para hablar con él para ver como había sido verdaderamente esa relación, cuentan que Eddie se empapo bien de toda la información que pudo a base de leer las novelas de Clark ( mi semana con Marilyn, y el príncipe la corista y yo) y que un día durante el rodaje apareció por el set de rodaje Collete la hermana gemela de Colin y eso le ayudó mucho

Michelle Williams tells that she met Eddie while they were still performing the play Red in New York, and of course she assumed that Eddie was American (since in the play she played Ken who as I told you in the previous post Eddie had to put an American accent to play it), and that she was very surprised when she met Eddie and all that she had in common with Colin , as Redmayne himself has recounted playing a role like Colin's was not too easy despite the similarities around him, Colin's character is based on a real person, my week's film with Marilyn was based on a book that Colin himself wrote of what his relationship was like with the most famous celluloid actress and did not have Colin to talk to him to see what that relationship had really been like. , they say that Eddie got well soaked in all the information he could from reading Clark's novels (my week with Marilyn, and the chorister prince and I) and that one day during filming he appeared by the set Collete Colin's twin sister and that helped him a lot.

Después del éxito cosechado por Red, a Eddie y Alfred Molina comenzarón a llegarles las primeras nominaciones a los grandes premios de la temporada, uno de los primeros fue su nominación en los premios Olivier del año 2010, donde Eddie no pudo ir a recoger su premio como mejor actor de reparto que obtuvo gracias a su interpretación de Ken ya que por aquel entonces se encontraba representando la obra en Broadway, pero ahí no quedo la cosa, después Eddie estuvo nominado a los premio Drama Desk de teatro en la ciudad de Nueva York en la misma categoría en la que estaba nominado junto a su compañero de escenario Alfred Molina, (en esta ocasión no pudo hacerse con el premio), pero eso no le impidió conseguir una de las 7 nominaciones que la obra obtuvo en los prestigiosos premios Tony del mismo año, (recordemos que era el debut de Eddie en Nueva York), para él según comento en varios medios en los que fue entrevistado ese ya era su mayor premio al haber podido trabajar en  Broadway de la mano del actor Alfred Molina.


Por si esto fuera poco Eddie consiguió llevarse el premio TONY al mejor actor de reparto que le fue entregado  de la mano de la actriz Lucy Liu, (la obra se llevo varios premios entre ellos al mejor director y mejor obra), por así decirlo el debut de Eddie no pudo haber empezado de la mejor manera en la ciudad de los rascacielos, Eddie también se llevo el premio del teatro World Awards que le fue entregado de la mano de su compañero de reparto Alfred Molina, días antes de ganar el Tony.

 Cuando Eddie habla de como fue aquella gala, Eddie siempre cuenta una anécdota que tiene como protagonista a su madre, y es que Patricia fue quien acompaño a Eddie en esa ceremonía, además de ser su cumpleaños (ya que por entonces Eddie no tenía pareja) dice que él le dijo antes de comenzar la gala que su madre estuviera tranquila que siempre pusiera una sonrisa (ya que es una gala que emiten en directo por tv), pero claro que su madre es un pelín competitiva entonces que cuando saliese la categoria en la que estaba nominado el propio Eddie (él estaba seguro de que no iba a ganar) que por favor cuando dijeran el nombre del ganador que ella estuviera tranquila y que no la vieran con cara de cabreo ni nada por el estilo, pero que paso .... que cuando nombraron a Eddie, Patricia estaba tan pendiente de lo que le había estado pidiendo su hijo que no se enteró de que nombraron a Eddie  ( os dejo el video donde Eddie cuenta esto aqui) min. 12.49

POR LA PUERTA GRANDE / WILL BACK TO THE THEATRE

La verdad es que el año 2009 fue un año de no parar para Eddie si en los post anteriores os hable de dos proyectos cinematograficos en esta ocasión y  después de más de dos años sin pisar un teatro, el director del teatro del  Dohmar, Michael Grandage le ofrece a Eddie  la oportunidad de interpretar el papel de Ken, el ayudante del pintor Mark Rothko, según comentó el propio Eddie, al haber estudiado Historia del Arte en la universidad, había oído hablar y bastante del carácter del Rothko, y cuando le ofrecieron el guion no pudo parar de leerlo, como os he comentado antes la obra se basa en la relación que mantienen Rothko (interpretado por Alfred Molina) y el personaje que interpreta Eddie.

Según se desgrana del panfleto de la obra ( que conseguí hacerme con el, gracias a internet) la obra esta basada en el estudio de Rothko, todo comienza con una simple entrevista de trabajo donde este esta buscando un ayudante porque la galería de arte más importante de Nueva York le ha pedido que exponga su obra allí, es por ello que Ken llega a sus instalaciones y no sabemos si es por lo tímido y retraído que le resulta acaba contratándolo, como os he comentado antes el personaje de Molina esta basado en un personaje real, sin embargo Ken, no, este es un personaje que John Logan (guionista de películas como Gladiator, y ganador de un premio de la academia-  guionista de la obra se inventa), Eddie siempre cuenta que en lo que se baso a la hora de interpretar a este personaje es que todos hemos tenido jefes alguna vez y sabemos lo que se siente… pues en eso estaba basado mi personaje… La obra estuvo en cartelera en Inglaterra desde el 03 de diciembre de 2009 hasta el 06 de febrero de 2010

Voy a intentar dejaros algunos videos de la obra de teatro que he ido encontrando por internet, porque al principio las críticas sobre todo en Reino Unido no fueron demasiado buenas sobre todo con el papel que interpretaba el propio Redmayne (os hablo de la primera semana del estreno de la obra) ya que mucha gente comentaba que si los personajes y la obra estaba basada en los Estados Unidos que hacía el ayudante hablando un ingles con acento perfecto, así que Eddie cambio y empezó a incluir su acento americano ( no hay que olvidar que clava este acento) en la obra, lo que le sirvió una nominación al premio Olivier  al mejor actor secundario en una obra de teatro, después del estreno de la obra en Inglaterra la obra se llevo a Estados Unidos cosechando gran éxito de criticas y audiencia, de hecho a la semana de su estreno estaban todas las entradas agotadas hasta el 27 de junio que fue cuando la obra dejo de emitirse en su primera temporada en los Estados Unidos ( en la siguiente temporada Eddie ya no saldría interpretando su papel) La obra tuvo su estreno el 11 de marzo de 2010, como os he dicho anteriormente estuvo en cartel hasta el 27 de junio, el estreno de la obra de Red en Nueva York supuso el debut teatral de Eddie en Broadway, y le sirvió el reconocimiento como actor secundario ya que por interpretar a Ken obtuvo el Tony al actor secundario en una obra de teatro, pero ya os haré otra entrada en referencia a los reconocimientos que tuvo Eddie por esta obra.

JACK JACKSON

Aunque el estreno de la serie de los pilares de la tierra no se realizo hasta julio de 2010, lo cierto es que el rodaje tuvo lugar durante los meses de mayo hasta noviembre de 2009, en ella podemos ver a Eddie interpretando el papel de Jack Jackson,  el rodaje de la misma tuvo lugar en Viena y Budapest.  (De ahí que os dijera en el post anterior que durante su interpretación de Osmond, Eddie se negará a cortarse el pelo, ya que es algo muy característico de este personaje) el rodaje empezó el día después de que interpretará el papel del monje.

Cuenta Eddie que algunas de las escenas en la que tenían que rodar bajo la “nieve”, estaban rodadas en su mayoría en pleno verano a mas de 40º, lo cierto es que para aquellos que hemos leído los pilares de la tierra no podemos imaginarnos a un actor mejor para interpretar el papel de nuestro querido Jack, cierto es que tuvieron que teñir a Eddie el pelo algo más pelirrojo de lo que su color natural, cuenta que cuando estaba rodando la mayoría de personas se le quedaban mirando y todo el mundo le decía te ves raro con ese pelo, y por lo visto el contestaba – ah, Si!!! Como soy daltónico no sé ni como se ve mi pelo.

Lo cierto es que en lo que respecta a la adaptación a mi particularmente me gusta mucho, ya que creo que como dicen en la serie esta basado en….

Lo que más me gusta de Jack (Eddie) es esa mirada tan angelical que por muchas fechorías que le hagan sigue manteniendo a lo largo de toda la mini serie, lo cierto es que Eddie tiene esa mirada angelical que es maravillosa, el año 2009 le trajo a Eddie unos cuantos buenos papeles que le trajeron para el futuro unas muy buenas recompensas

Para muchos Eddie siempre será nuestro Jack Jackson (aunque particularmente yo no le conocí por este maravilloso personaje (cosa que no perdono)).

La verdad es que pudimos ver la asombrosa química que tiene con su compañera de rodaje Hayley Atwell

BLACK DEATH

Como bien os dije en anteriores entradas el año 2008 fue un año muy productivo para Eddie en cuanto a rodajes y estrenos, pero el año 2009 no fue ni mucho menos peor, si que es cierto que a nivel personal las cosas no iban por el mejor camino ya que había roto su relación con Tara después de más de tres años juntos, pero a nivel profesional las cosas le iban muy bien, estreno la pelicula Glorious 39 junto con Romola Garai, y le seleccionaron para interpretar el papel de Osmond, en la película "Black Death", la verdad es que si eres de las personas que sigues a Eddie desde el principio de su carrera esto no te sorprenderá pero a mi si que me sorprendío cuando comence a indagar sobre sus trabajos y vi que había trabajo en una pelicula de Terror, me pareció fascinante (si tenemos en cuenta que este género es uno de mis favoritos), pero.... cual fue mi sorpresa mayor cuando la ví, es que no sólo aparecía en la película sino que Osmond mi querido Osmond era el prota de la misma...

Que deciros de  la peli ( que aquí os marco un ALERTA SPOILER) por si se me escapa algo que no deba de decir, pues que habrá gente a la que no le guste un pimiento, pero a mi me encanta, más que de género terror se podría decir que la peli como tal es más gore, y no soy una experta en el género pero si que os puedo decir que el director de la cinta si que lo es, la peli nos cuenta la  historia de un joven monje del monasterio apenas aparenta tener más de 18 años, lo que no saben los monjes es que a escondidas el joven se ve con Avrill una joven de la que esta enamorado, pero que pasa Avrill decide huir hacía el bosque para no contraer la peste que azota por aquella época a Europa, Avrill le comenta a Osmond que deje el monasterio y se vaya con ella, que le espera todos los dias durante una semana en el bosque hasta que él decida huir del monasterio y reunirse con ella,  en esto que al monasterio llegan unos guerreros solicitando a un guia para que les indique como llegar a una aldea que esta (curiosamente) cerca del bosque donde se encuentra Avrill, así que ni que decir tiene que Osmond se ofrece voluntario para irse con ellos....
Pero... no os dejéis influenciar por lo que os he contado que esto es lo que nos cuentan en la contraportada del DVD debeís de ver la peli, para ver que sucede con nuestro monje y sus forajidos compañeros, según los extras del DVD la pelicula se rodó en orden cronologico y se trata de una coproducción entre Reino Unido y Alemanía,  otra cosa que a mi particularmente me llama es que Eddie al interpretar a un monje de clausura debía de llevar un corte muy particular en el pelo, pero lo que creo que muy poquita gente sabe (aunque Eddie contó en una entrevista) es que justamente el día despúes de terminar de grabar  " Black death" tenía que comenzar el rodaje de un personaje muy famoso  y que tenía que tener un pelo muy particular ( era algo caracteristico de este personaje)  y al día siguiente de terminar este rodaje en Alemanía viajaba a Budapest para comenzar con el nuevo rodaje,  por este motivo no le reparon el pelo a Eddie y si que usaron protesis para poder hacer que pareciese más un monje del siglo XIV

What to tell you about the movie (ALERT SPOILER) in case I miss something that I should not say, because there will be people who do not like a pepper, but I love it, more than horror genre you could say that the peli as such is more gore, and I am not an expert in the genre but I can tell you that the director of the film yes he is, the film tells us the story of a young monk from the monastery barely appears to be over 18 years, what the monks do not know is that secretly the young man sees Avrill a young woman with whom he is in love, but what happens Avrill decides to flee to the forest to avoid contracting the plague that plagues Europe at that time, Avrill He tells Osmond to leave the monastery and go with her, who waits for him every day for a week in the forest until he decides to flee from the monastery and meet her, in which time some warriors come to the monastery requesting a guide to to tell you how to get to a village that is (curiously ) near the forest where Avrill is located, so it goes without saying that Osmond volunteers to go with them ...

GRANDES COMPAÑEROS / FLOORMATES

En mi anterior entrada os hablaba de la amistad de Eddie con Tom Sturridge y Sienna Miller, pues bien quiero hacerlo de sus "antiguos compañeros de piso" Andrew Garlfield y Jamie Dornan,  según comentan se conocieron haciendo audiciones, pero no fue hasta que sus representantes les pidieron que se mudaran a Los Angeles a probar suerte como actores que no se decidieron a convivir juntos, según comenta el propio Eddie, les costo un poco hacerse al ambiente de esa gran ciudad ya que por ejemplo él procede de Londres y raramente utiliza el coche para moverse por la ciudad (ha sido varias veces captado montando en el metro) así que cuando llegaron allí como os estaba diciendo antes decidieron compartir piso ( según tengo entendido, por aquella época Jamie y él compartían representantes) , según comento el propio Jamie en el programa de TV de James Corden no hace mucho, Eddie era un poco envidiosillo, ya que un día estaban en casa y llego un mensajero con un paquete enorme de guiones que iban dirigidos para que Jamie se presentará a varios castings para ver si obtenía algún papel, lo que hizo que Eddie se pusiera furioso y llamará a su representante diciéndole el porque a él no le había hecho llegar ninguno de estos guiones, al poco tiempo otro mensajero volvio a llamar a la puerta y le hizo llegar los mismos guiones que a Jamie.

Lo cierto, es que Eddie y Jamie no han compartido pantalla, pero aún así se hicieron muy buenos amigos y aún lo siguen siendo, no es raro ver a Eddie con su esposa Hannah y Jamie con su respectiva mujer paseando o haciendo las compras por Londres, pero... que hay de Andrew, como os he dicho también compartía piso con ellos, pero lo cierto es que podemos decir que al pequeño de los amigos como que le llego el éxito un poco antes que al resto, no debemos olvidar que por aquellos años protagonizo la nada despreciable "la red social" junto con Justin Timberlake y no debemos olvidar que dicha cinta obtenía incluso varias nominaciones a los oscars incluyendo mejor pelicula, y mientras que Andrew (más o menos triunfaba) el resto tenía que confirmarse haciendo millones de audiciones y compartiendo un sandwich en un parking para que les saliese mucho más economico (esta anécdota la contó el propio Redmayne al recoger su HFA en 2014).  (Esta entrada continuará más adelante)....

LAS HERMANAS BOLENA / THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL

¿Quién no haya oído hablar de esta peli?, creo que la mayoría de personas, esta protagonizada por Natalie Portman, Eric Bana y Scarlett Johansson, ¿pero sabíais que Eddie hace un pequeño papel? 

Pero que para nada pasa desapercibido, en la cinta interpreta a William Stanford, se podría decir un sirviente de los Bolena, muy apegado a Maria, interpretada por Scarlett, en la cinta podemos verlo vestido con unas ropas muy típicas del siglo XVI,…. Cuando a Eddie le preguntaban en entrevistas sobre este papel comentaba que al hombre al que tenía que interpretar (os recuerdo que esta película esta basada en acontecimientos reales, aunque dejan algunos por contar) bien, pues cuando le preguntaban siempre comentaba que claro en aquella época los hombres eran bastante corpulentos, y rudos y obviamente Eddie no es de ese tipo de personas (aparte de que es mucho más guapo que el personaje al que interpreta).

Os hago un Spoiler

En la cinta podemos ver la química que hay entre el personaje de William (o Stanford como le llama María) y la propia Maria , esta atracción va en aumento hasta que William declara su amor por la joven Bolena, lo que en la película no nos cuentan es que ya que  Maria estaba casada su hermana Anna pidió que la desterraran y es por este motivo que ambos tuvieron que vivir en el campo ( es cierto que hacía el final de cinta se intuye que ambos vivieron felices en concreto hasta que Maria cayó enferma y murió, ambos tuvieron varios hijos en común).
Una de las cosas que no vemos en la cinta es ningún beso entre la pareja, aunque si os puedo decir que esto si que ocurrió durante el rodaje (aunque en el montaje final no incluyeran esas escenas)

Otra cosa, Eddie siempre dice que gracias a esta pelí fue donde se formo en el mundo del cine ( ya que anteriormente veía más espectáculos teatrales que ir al cine) dice que Scarlett le comentaba escenas de pelis muy conocidas y Eddie le decía: Ya pero es que yo no he visto esa película que me dices, así que Scarlett le pregunto a todos los miembros de reparto que les dijera  cuales eran sus 5 peliculas favoritas y esa lista se la paso a Eddie para que se pusiera el día, otra anécdota es que aunque rodaron la peli en Reino Unido, Natalie hizo una fiesta de Halloween en las que todos iban disfrazados pero no de brujas y zombies… si no de John Travolta y Olivia Newton John (esto lo ha desvelado Eddie en entrevistas), y otra última cosa que me falta por deciros es que en esta pelí coinciden con Eddie, Benedith Cumberbatch y Andrew Garfield (aunque no encuentro a este último en ninguna escena por más que me ponga  a ver la peli.

Y por último en la pelicula podemos ver a Eddie trabajando con Mark Rylance con quien ya trabajo en la anteriormente mencionada obra de teatro "Noche de reyes"
