BLACK DEATH

Como bien os dije en anteriores entradas el año 2008 fue un año muy productivo para Eddie en cuanto a rodajes y estrenos, pero el año 2009 no fue ni mucho menos peor, si que es cierto que a nivel personal las cosas no iban por el mejor camino ya que había roto su relación con Tara después de más de tres años juntos, pero a nivel profesional las cosas le iban muy bien, estreno la pelicula Glorious 39 junto con Romola Garai, y le seleccionaron para interpretar el papel de Osmond, en la película "Black Death", la verdad es que si eres de las personas que sigues a Eddie desde el principio de su carrera esto no te sorprenderá pero a mi si que me sorprendío cuando comence a indagar sobre sus trabajos y vi que había trabajo en una pelicula de Terror, me pareció fascinante (si tenemos en cuenta que este género es uno de mis favoritos), pero.... cual fue mi sorpresa mayor cuando la ví, es que no sólo aparecía en la película sino que Osmond mi querido Osmond era el prota de la misma...

Que deciros de  la peli ( que aquí os marco un ALERTA SPOILER) por si se me escapa algo que no deba de decir, pues que habrá gente a la que no le guste un pimiento, pero a mi me encanta, más que de género terror se podría decir que la peli como tal es más gore, y no soy una experta en el género pero si que os puedo decir que el director de la cinta si que lo es, la peli nos cuenta la  historia de un joven monje del monasterio apenas aparenta tener más de 18 años, lo que no saben los monjes es que a escondidas el joven se ve con Avrill una joven de la que esta enamorado, pero que pasa Avrill decide huir hacía el bosque para no contraer la peste que azota por aquella época a Europa, Avrill le comenta a Osmond que deje el monasterio y se vaya con ella, que le espera todos los dias durante una semana en el bosque hasta que él decida huir del monasterio y reunirse con ella,  en esto que al monasterio llegan unos guerreros solicitando a un guia para que les indique como llegar a una aldea que esta (curiosamente) cerca del bosque donde se encuentra Avrill, así que ni que decir tiene que Osmond se ofrece voluntario para irse con ellos....
Pero... no os dejéis influenciar por lo que os he contado que esto es lo que nos cuentan en la contraportada del DVD debeís de ver la peli, para ver que sucede con nuestro monje y sus forajidos compañeros, según los extras del DVD la pelicula se rodó en orden cronologico y se trata de una coproducción entre Reino Unido y Alemanía,  otra cosa que a mi particularmente me llama es que Eddie al interpretar a un monje de clausura debía de llevar un corte muy particular en el pelo, pero lo que creo que muy poquita gente sabe (aunque Eddie contó en una entrevista) es que justamente el día despúes de terminar de grabar  " Black death" tenía que comenzar el rodaje de un personaje muy famoso  y que tenía que tener un pelo muy particular ( era algo caracteristico de este personaje)  y al día siguiente de terminar este rodaje en Alemanía viajaba a Budapest para comenzar con el nuevo rodaje,  por este motivo no le reparon el pelo a Eddie y si que usaron protesis para poder hacer que pareciese más un monje del siglo XIV

What to tell you about the movie (ALERT SPOILER) in case I miss something that I should not say, because there will be people who do not like a pepper, but I love it, more than horror genre you could say that the peli as such is more gore, and I am not an expert in the genre but I can tell you that the director of the film yes he is, the film tells us the story of a young monk from the monastery barely appears to be over 18 years, what the monks do not know is that secretly the young man sees Avrill a young woman with whom he is in love, but what happens Avrill decides to flee to the forest to avoid contracting the plague that plagues Europe at that time, Avrill He tells Osmond to leave the monastery and go with her, who waits for him every day for a week in the forest until he decides to flee from the monastery and meet her, in which time some warriors come to the monastery requesting a guide to to tell you how to get to a village that is (curiously ) near the forest where Avrill is located, so it goes without saying that Osmond volunteers to go with them ...

But ... do not be influenced by what I have told you that this is what they tell us on the back cover of the DVD, you must see the movie, to see what happens to our monk and his outlaw companions, according to the extras on the DVD the The film was shot in chronological order and it is a co-production between the United Kingdom and Germany, another thing that particularly calls my attention is that Eddie, when playing a cloistered monk, must have had a very particular cut on his hair, but what I think very few people know (although Eddie told in an interview) is that just the day after finishing filming "Black death" he had to start filming a very famous character and that he had to have a very particular hair (it was something characteristic of this character) and the day after finishing this shoot in Germany he traveled to Budapest to start the new shoot, for this reason they did not repair Eddie's hair and instead they used prostheses to make it look more like  14th century monk

GRANDES COMPAÑEROS / FLOORMATES

En mi anterior entrada os hablaba de la amistad de Eddie con Tom Sturridge y Sienna Miller, pues bien quiero hacerlo de sus "antiguos compañeros de piso" Andrew Garlfield y Jamie Dornan,  según comentan se conocieron haciendo audiciones, pero no fue hasta que sus representantes les pidieron que se mudaran a Los Angeles a probar suerte como actores que no se decidieron a convivir juntos, según comenta el propio Eddie, les costo un poco hacerse al ambiente de esa gran ciudad ya que por ejemplo él procede de Londres y raramente utiliza el coche para moverse por la ciudad (ha sido varias veces captado montando en el metro) así que cuando llegaron allí como os estaba diciendo antes decidieron compartir piso ( según tengo entendido, por aquella época Jamie y él compartían representantes) , según comento el propio Jamie en el programa de TV de James Corden no hace mucho, Eddie era un poco envidiosillo, ya que un día estaban en casa y llego un mensajero con un paquete enorme de guiones que iban dirigidos para que Jamie se presentará a varios castings para ver si obtenía algún papel, lo que hizo que Eddie se pusiera furioso y llamará a su representante diciéndole el porque a él no le había hecho llegar ninguno de estos guiones, al poco tiempo otro mensajero volvio a llamar a la puerta y le hizo llegar los mismos guiones que a Jamie.

Lo cierto, es que Eddie y Jamie no han compartido pantalla, pero aún así se hicieron muy buenos amigos y aún lo siguen siendo, no es raro ver a Eddie con su esposa Hannah y Jamie con su respectiva mujer paseando o haciendo las compras por Londres, pero... que hay de Andrew, como os he dicho también compartía piso con ellos, pero lo cierto es que podemos decir que al pequeño de los amigos como que le llego el éxito un poco antes que al resto, no debemos olvidar que por aquellos años protagonizo la nada despreciable "la red social" junto con Justin Timberlake y no debemos olvidar que dicha cinta obtenía incluso varias nominaciones a los oscars incluyendo mejor pelicula, y mientras que Andrew (más o menos triunfaba) el resto tenía que confirmarse haciendo millones de audiciones y compartiendo un sandwich en un parking para que les saliese mucho más economico (esta anécdota la contó el propio Redmayne al recoger su HFA en 2014).  (Esta entrada continuará más adelante)....

In my previous post I was talking about Eddie's friendship with Tom Sturridge and Sienna Miller, well I want to make it from his
"roommates" Andrew Garlfield and Jamie Dornan, as they say they met auditioning, but it wasn't until their representatives asked them to move to Los Angeles to try their luck as actors who didn't decide to live together, , as Eddie himself says, it cost them a little to get to the atmosphere of that great city since for example he comes from London and rarely uses the car to get around the city (he has been caught riding the subway several times) so when they got there as I was telling you before they decided to share the apartment (as I understand it, around that time Jamie and he shared representatives) , as Jamie himself commented on James Corden's TV show not long ago, Eddie was a bit envious, as one day they were at home and a messenger came in with a huge package of scripts that were directed for Jamie to show up for various castings to see if he got any paper, which made Eddie furious and he'll call his manager telling him why he hadn't gotten any of these scripts, soon another messenger knocked on the door again and sent him the same scripts as Jamie.

The truth is, Eddie and Jamie haven't shared screen, but they still became very good friends and still are, it's not uncommon to see Eddie with his wife Hannah and Jamie with their respective wife walking or shopping around London, but... there's Andrew, as I've told you I also shared a flat with them, but the truth is that the little one of the friends like that I got success a little before the rest, we must not forget that in those years I star the not despicable "social network" together with Justin Timberlake and we must not forget that this film got even several Oscar nominations including best film including best movie , and while Andrew (more or less succeeded) the rest had to be confirmed by doing millions of auditions and sharing a sandwich in a car park to make them much more economical (this anecdote was told by Redmayne himself when he picked up his HFA in 2014).  (This entry will continue later)...

UNA GRAN AMISTAD / A GREAT FRIENSHIP

De todos es sabido la  gran química que tiene Eddie con otros actores o actrices en sus peliculas y fuera de ellas, como son Felicity Jones, Alicia Vikander, Katerine Waterston, etc.... y la gran amistad que tiene con otros actores, como son Andrew Garfield, Jamie Dornan, James Corden ...
Y es que Eddie a parte de considerarlos compañeros de rodaje, se hace amigos de ellos, siempre ha dicho que si se crea esa amistad es mucho más fácil el poder compatir plano, pero hoy no os voy a hablar de las actrices anteriormente mencionadas, hoy quiero hablar de una amistad que se forjo en el rodaje de una pelicula y que más de 15 años después sigue intacta.

Hace unas semanas os hable en este post de la pelicula "like minds" en ella nuestro Eddie comparte protagonismo con Tom Sturridge que interpreta el papel de Nigel Corby, es que precisamente si veis la peli podéis ver la química (destructiva o no) que hay entre ellos, pues bien esa química que atraviesa la pantalla, también lo hizo en la vida real, puesto que Tom y Eddie se convirtieron en intimos amigos, de hecho despues de terminar de rodar la peli (recordemos que muchas de las escenas se rodaron en Australia) Eddie y Tom se fueron de vacaciones a Nueva Zelanda (donde Eddie se compro un piano), no solo esto después de todo esto Tom fue testigo de la boda de Eddie con Hannah y por si fuera poco Eddie es el padrino de la hija que Tom comparte con la actriz Sienna Miller, ( y desde entonces también comparten amistad con la actriz)  pero.... sabrías que uno de los bowtruckles de animales fantasticos se llama Marlow por su ahijada, no?, pues ahora ya lo sabéis de hecho la propia Sienna lo confesó en una entrevista e incluso que se presento al casting para interpretar el papel de Tina,  ( me estoy yendo por las ramas) ...

Como podéis ver en las siguientes imagenes que ilustran esta entrada podemos ver como Tom y Sienna  acompañando  a la pareja en más de una ocasión.

A few weeks ago I spoke to you in this post about the movie "like minds" in it our Eddie shares the limelight with Tom Sturridge who plays the role of Nigel Corby, is that precisely if you see the movie you can see the chemistry (destructive or not) that there is Among them, well that chemistry that crosses the screen, also did it in real life, since Tom and Eddie became close friends, in fact after finishing shooting the movie (remember that many of the scenes were shot in Australia) Eddie and Tom went on vacation to New Zealand (where Eddie bought a piano), after all this Tom witnessed Eddie's wedding with Hannah, also Eddie is the godfather of the daughter Tom shares with the actress Sienna Miller, and Eddie and Sienna and very friend too.

LAS HERMANAS BOLENA / THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL

¿Quién no haya oído hablar de esta peli?, creo que la mayoría de personas, esta protagonizada por Natalie Portman, Eric Bana y Scarlett Johansson, ¿pero sabíais que Eddie hace un pequeño papel? 

Pero que para nada pasa desapercibido, en la cinta interpreta a William Stanford, se podría decir un sirviente de los Bolena, muy apegado a Maria, interpretada por Scarlett, en la cinta podemos verlo vestido con unas ropas muy típicas del siglo XVI,…. Cuando a Eddie le preguntaban en entrevistas sobre este papel comentaba que al hombre al que tenía que interpretar (os recuerdo que esta película esta basada en acontecimientos reales, aunque dejan algunos por contar) bien, pues cuando le preguntaban siempre comentaba que claro en aquella época los hombres eran bastante corpulentos, y rudos y obviamente Eddie no es de ese tipo de personas (aparte de que es mucho más guapo que el personaje al que interpreta).

Os hago un Spoiler

En la cinta podemos ver la química que hay entre el personaje de William (o Stanford como le llama María) y la propia Maria , esta atracción va en aumento hasta que William declara su amor por la joven Bolena, lo que en la película no nos cuentan es que ya que  Maria estaba casada su hermana Anna pidió que la desterraran y es por este motivo que ambos tuvieron que vivir en el campo ( es cierto que hacía el final de cinta se intuye que ambos vivieron felices en concreto hasta que Maria cayó enferma y murió, ambos tuvieron varios hijos en común).
Una de las cosas que no vemos en la cinta es ningún beso entre la pareja, aunque si os puedo decir que esto si que ocurrió durante el rodaje (aunque en el montaje final no incluyeran esas escenas)

Otra cosa, Eddie siempre dice que gracias a esta pelí fue donde se formo en el mundo del cine ( ya que anteriormente veía más espectáculos teatrales que ir al cine) dice que Scarlett le comentaba escenas de pelis muy conocidas y Eddie le decía: Ya pero es que yo no he visto esa película que me dices, así que Scarlett le pregunto a todos los miembros de reparto que les dijera  cuales eran sus 5 peliculas favoritas y esa lista se la paso a Eddie para que se pusiera el día, otra anécdota es que aunque rodaron la peli en Reino Unido, Natalie hizo una fiesta de Halloween en las que todos iban disfrazados pero no de brujas y zombies… si no de John Travolta y Olivia Newton John (esto lo ha desvelado Eddie en entrevistas), y otra última cosa que me falta por deciros es que en esta pelí coinciden con Eddie, Benedith Cumberbatch y Andrew Garfield (aunque no encuentro a este último en ninguna escena por más que me ponga  a ver la peli.

Y por último en la pelicula podemos ver a Eddie trabajando con Mark Rylance con quien ya trabajo en la anteriormente mencionada obra de teatro "Noche de reyes"

Who has not heard of this movie? I think most people, it stars Natalie Portman, Eric Bana and Scarlett Johansson, but did you know that Eddie does a small role?

Another thing, Eddie always says that thanks to this movie he was where he trained in the world of cinema (since previously he saw more theatrical shows than going to the cinema) he says that Scarlett commented on scenes from well-known movies and Eddie said: is that I have not seen that movie you tell me, so Scarlett asked all the cast members to tell them what were their 5 favorite movies and that list was passed to Eddie to make the day, another anecdote is that although they filmed the movie in the UK, Natalie had a Halloween party in which everyone was dressed up but not as witches and zombies ... if not John Travolta and Olivia Newton John (this has been revealed by Eddie in interviews), and another last one What I need to tell you is that in this movie they coincide with Eddie, Benedith Cumberbatch and Andrew Garfield (although I do not find the latter in any scene, no matter how hard I watch the movie.

EDDIE CON EL PELO NEGRO/ EDDIE WITH A BLACK HAIR (OMG)

Durante el rodaje de otro de los intentos por Eddie de abrirse paso en los EEUU, tuvo que cambiar de look, ya que estamos a costumbrados a verlo con su pelo pelirrojo, pero durante el rodaje de la pelicula Powder Blue (no se llego a estrenar a este lado del charco) pudimos ver a un Eddie muy cambiado ya que aparece con el pelo teñido de negro ( no va a ser esta la primera vez que le veamos con el pelo tenido pero si que puede ser la que más llame nuestra atención)

La pelicula enconcreto se centra en la vida de 4 personas y como sus historias se van entre cruzando, la cinta cuenta como protagonistas con Jessica Biel, Ray Liota, Forrest Whitaker y Eddie Redmayne y unos personajes secundarios muy conocidos también. El papel de Eddie que quereis que os diga yo no critica de cine ni nada por el estilo pero es una peli que a mi ni fú ni fa, no va a entrar en los anales de las mejores peliculas que he visto en mi vida ni nada por el estilo.
Eddie es Qwerty Dolittle ( dueño de las pompas funebres) en la ciudad de Los Angeles pero con más trampas que dinero la verdad... tiene problemas para entablar conversaciones (sobretodo con chicas) hasta que conoce a Rose Johnny (papel interpretado por Jessica Biel) madre soltera con su hijo muy enfermo en un hospital....

Lo mejor de todo, que aquí en España no esta doblada y que la podreis ver en V.O y oireis a Eddie con ese maravilloso acento americano que a mi tanto me gusta. Os recomiendo que veaís la peli, pero que no tengais unas grandes pretensiones con ella, es para pasar el rato y poco más

Pero.... no solamente le vimos interpretando a Qwerty con el pelo negro, no aprovechando el look Eddie hizo varias sesiones de fotos entre ellas una campaña de fotos para la marca Burberry  e incluso acudio algun que otro estreno os dejo alguna foto por el post

Eddie is Qwerty Dolittle (owner of the funeral parlors) in  Los Angeles but with no very money the truth ... he has trouble starting conversations (especially with girls) until he meets Rose Johnny (role played by Jessica Biel ) single mother with her very sick son in a hospital ....

But ... not only did we see him playing Qwerty with black hair, not taking advantage of the look Eddie did several photo sessions including a photo campaign for Burberry company.

KNOWING ME, KNOWING YOU...

Aprovecho el titulo de una canción del grupo sueco ABBA,  para haceros la entrada de hoy,  en la que vamos a seguir conociendo un poco mejor a nuestro actor favorito. 

Como sabeís Eddie ( ya os dije en este link) nacío en Londres en 1982, pero ¿quién es la familia Redmayne?, pues bien llevo un tiempo indagando y esto es lo que he encontrado.

Eddie tiene 2 hermanos de sangre James nacido en 1979 y Thomas nacido en 1987, pero además de a ellos, el actor tiene dos medio hermanos nacidos de un matrimonio anterior de su padre ellos son Eugenie nacida en 1965 y Charlie nacido en 1966. Por lo tanto Eddie es el 4º hijo de su padre Richard Redmayne nacido en 1938 en concreto el 05 de julio  y el 2º de su madre Patricia Burke nacida en 1949, ambos contrajeron matrimonio en el mes de mayo de 1978.

Después de Eddie, el hermano "más conocido" del clan es Charlie, a parte de ser militar, es CEO de la editorial Harper Collins en Londres, y era el encargado de llevar la web de pottermore de la escritora JK Rowling, pero el resto de sus hermanos no se quedan atrás, (la verdad es que el que provengan de una familia acomodada para ellos no quiere decir que se dediquen a vivir la vida padre, son unos trabajadores natos y eso se nota en sus puestos de trabajo) James es según Eddie un deportista nato y un gran estudiante, actualmente vive en Hong Kong con su mujer y sus tres hijos y el más pequeño de los hermanos Tom, acaba de convertirse en papá de su primera hija Nola, junto a su esposa, y ambos residen en Nueva York,  ( según publicaba el diario britanico "The sun" Eddie esta deseando que termine esta cuarentena y poder viajar a los EEUU, para poder conocerla) ya que Eddie siempre ha estado muy unido a sus hermanos. 

Que más deciros ah si, que todos los hermanos Redmayne han ido al prestigioso colegio de Eton, de hecho Eddie fue compañero de clase del principe Guillermo ( el heredero a la corona britanica)aunque según él solamente jugaban juntos a Rugby e iban a clases de francés juntos  y también en el colegio se codeo con el actor Tom Hiddleston ( que no se si os sonora su nombre, pero que si os digo que interpreta al personaje de Loki quizás os suene mucho más) , con Tom han realizado teatros de manera amateur en el colegio, donde Eddie interpretaba papeles femeninos y Tom hacía el papel de pata delantera de un elefante, os dejo el link donde Tom cuenta esta historia directamente en este link. Lo que no sabía Eddie, es que durante su estancia en Eton conocería a una persona que con el paso de los años se convertiría en alguien muy especial para él (ya os contaré esto en su debido momento , soy mala lo sé) 

Después de asistir a Eton, donde el precio medio es de unos 5.000 dolares en la matricula,  fue al Trinity College de Cambridge ( una de las más prestigiosas universidades de Reino Unido, junto con Oxford) como os comente Eddie estudio Historia del Arte, aunque tambiéb hacía sus pinitos como actor, allí Eddie coincidio en los actores Rebecca Hall y Dan Stevens que fueron compañeros de facultad (aunque no de estudios) 

Fue durante su etapa estudiantil, donde conocio a quien se convertiria en su insepareble compañera de vida durante más de 3 años Tara Hacking. (estad atentos a proximas entradas si quereis saber de quien os hablo)

Eddie has 2 blood brothers James born in 1979 and Thomas born in 1987, but in addition to them, the actor has one  half sister and ond half brother  born from a previous marriage of his father they are Eugenie born in 1965 and Charlie born in 1966. All the Redmayne brothers have gone to the prestigious Eton school, in fact Eddie was classmate of Prince William although according to him they only played Rugby together and went to French classes together and also at school He rubbed shoulders with actor Tom Hiddleston ( Loki,), with Tom they have made amateur theaters at school, where Eddie played female roles and Tom played the role of the front leg of an elephant, I leave you the link where Tom tells this story directly in this link. What Eddie did not know, is that during his stay in Eton he would meet a person who over the years would become someone very special to him (I'll tell you this in due course, I'm bad I know)

After  Eton, where the average price is about $ 5,000 in tuition, he went to Trinity College, Cambridge (one of the most prestigious universities in the United Kingdom, together with Oxford) as Eddie studied Art History, although He also made his first steps as an actor, there Eddie coincided in the actors Rebecca Hall and Dan Stevens who were college classmates (although not from studies)

BASADO EN... / BASED ON

Para muchos Eddie Redmayne es Newt Scamander, pero para otros muchos Eddie es Jack Jackson  (los pilares de la tierra) y para otros será Angel Claire (Tess), y es que a Eddie los personajes basados en novelas o personajes de ficción le van como anillo al dedo (basicamente como todos los papeles que interpreta), pero hoy os voy a hablar del primero de ellos Angel Claire.

Si habéis visto la serie que estreno la BBC hayá por el año 2008, o si habéis leído la novela seguramente os suene y mucho esta escena que os describo, se trata cuando  Angel Claire (el personaje de Eddie) cruza a las chicas por el rio para que no se mojen los pies, pues bien en los extras del DVD Eddie cuenta lo que le costo rodar esa escena, porque según él (ya sabemos lo exagerado que es) apenas tiene fuerza y la escena tenía que quedar de una manera romantica y hubo un momento en el que el personaje de Tess (Gemma Artenton) comenzo a resbarse de sus manos y temia que ambos dos terminaran en el agua. Otra de las anécdoras es tan bien con respecto a Gemma, sabeís que Eddie no es el tio más musculoso del mundo pero... cuando se entero que iba compartir protagonismo con ella y que ella a su vez acababa de trabajar con Daniel Craig en James Bond decidio ir al gimnasio para que ella pudiera comparar, la verdad es que este chico no deja de soprendernos.

Para quien no lo sepa la serie de Tess esta basada en la novela homonima de Thomas Hardy, y en ella se habla de la virtud de las mujeres de la época . La serie consta de 4 capitulos y se rodo en Surrey en los meses de invierno de 2008,  la verdad es que la fotografía y el vestuario de la serie hace que te metas mucho en la época de la novela, finales del siglo XIX. La serie se estreno en Septiembre de 2008 en la BBC y en marzo del año siguiente en las televisiones norteamericas, aquí en España creo que no llegó a emitirse en ninguna cadena de TV, pero si que fue lanzada directamente a DVD. Como curiosidad os diré que los capitulos emitidos enTV  eran de una duración más prolongada y que al pasarlas a DVD  han omitido unas cuantas escenas y debo añadir de los más interesante... Yo recomiendo que la veias en Versión original como todo lo que hace Eddie para que podais disfrutar de su marcado acento britanico.

Y otra curiosidad el personaje  Alec Duberville (El villano) esta interpretado por Hans Materson y os digo esto porque tanto Hans como Eddie han interpretado el papel de Marius Pontmercy en los miserables, y podeis volver a ver a Eddie montando a caballo eso siempre pinta bien. jajaja

If you have seen the series that the BBC premieres there for the year 2008, or if you have read the novel, it surely sounds familiar to you and this scene that I describe to you is about Angel Claire (Eddie's character) crossing the girls by the river so they don't get their feet wet, well in the extras on the DVD Eddie tells what it cost him to shoot that scene, because according to him (we already know how exaggerated it is) it hardly has any strength and the scene had to be in a romantic and There was a time when Tess's character (Gemma Artenton) started to slip out of his hands and feared that both of them would end up in the water. Another of the anecdotes is so good regarding Gemma, you know that Eddie is not the most muscular guy in the world but ... when he found out that he was going to share the limelight with her and that she in turn had just worked with Daniel Craig on James Bond decided to go to the gym so she could compare, the truth is that this boy never ceases to amaze us.

Tess is based on the homonymous novel written by Thomas Hardy, and it talks about the virtue of women of the time. The series consists of 4 chapters and was filmed in Surrey in the winter months of 2008, the truth is that the photography and costumes of the series make you mess around a lot in the time of the novel, late 19th century. The series premiered in September 2008 on the BBC and in March of the following year on North American television, here in Spain I think that it did not get to be broadcast on any TV channel, but it was released directly to DVD. As a curiosity I will tell you that the episodes broadcast on TV were of a longer duration and that when they were transferred to DVD they have omitted a few scenes and I must add the most interesting ... I recommend that you see it in the original version as everything Eddie does. so you can enjoy his strong British accent.

And another curiosity the character Alec Duberville (The villain) is played by Hans Materson and I tell you this because both Hans and Eddie have played the role of Marius Pontmercy in Les Misérables.
